I'm sorry, but there are only those solutions available as shown already at the thread here. This seams only occuring at dedicated machines, but as long as i have no administrative access to at least one failing machine (all my provider machines are working as expected), i can't proceed any deeper analysis.
I understand your problems, but i'm afraid i can not give you more help as done here.

I still have the same problem :( applied all solutions but nothing solved...always get that error (randomly) every 5 pageviews approximately.
I'm using a translated version of wordpress (italian) and it's updated to the latest release (plugins and wp itself).

Any solution?

Thanks!!!

Until the next PHP version will be released, the dirty trick for mod_php / shared hosting is to make the changes in both php.ini and .htaccess. This way, even if settings from php.ini is overwritten in another user .htaccess, it won't affect your site because they will be overwritten again by your htaccess

I absolutely love you. Your patched file recovered my blog..

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
(codestyling: some "thanks" removed, seems enough to show your happiness :-) )

Hey,

I've solution.
I had magic_quotes_runtime = On.
It works with your patch, but needs magic_quotes_runtime to be Off (!)

BTW. I can't use .htaccess neither httpd.conf because of php in fastcgi mode. Only ini_set();

I got similar reports from german users, that it sporadicaly happens anyway but plugins not running with first patch now do work. The solution for german Provider is setting by .htaccess file the value always to 0.

PHP_VALUE mbstring.func_overload 0

Beside this i found also a bad behavoir of PHP 5 if the ZEND_COMPATIBILITY_MODE is activated. Serveral other german Provider write in there FAQ, that this has to be switched off to get WordPress properly running.
I have only german links to those material but the Setting inside php.ini should be set to:

ze1.zend_compatiblity_mode = off

Could you please check this ?

Hello,

I use
FreeBSD 6.3
PHP5.2.6 in FastCgi mode
Apache 2.2.9

I repleaced streams.php within the newest one (update 21.07.2008).

I've still the same issue. My script eats 100% of server CPU.

Do you have any ideas about it?
